Seen jamming on Bob Marley's « Three Little Birds » with busker Lampa Faly, Dasha Pearl is a California raised singer/songwriter, born Dierdre Dubois in New York in 1969. Established in Paris as the « Otherworldly » voice of Ekova in ‘94, she earned « Best Upcoming Artist Jazz » and was nominated « Best Album Jazz » with Julien Lourau Groove Gang at the French Grammy’s (Victoires) 1999. Jazz crooner since 2007, Dasha’s textured vocal style is often compared to Amy Winehouse or Erykah Badu.
Turned producer and beat-maker, her tracks are a joyous, gender bending time-warp of Old School Hip Hop meets Jazz and Reggae.
