porter robinson - bbc radio 1 (2 hour essential mix)

so, this is my essential mix. i want to say a few things about it!

before writing "worlds", i'd been feeling kinda pessimistic about the future of electronic music. so once i was done writing "worlds" over the course of 2~ish years, i just felt the need to find new stuff that i loved. i did a ton of soundcloud digging, basically, and most of the music in this mix was music i found that way. that's not to say that there aren't classics or songs i've known for a while here, but it's mostly new music.

then BBC radio 1 asked me to do an essential mix, and it seemed like the perfect way to showcase new stuff i was into.

i also feel like it's important to point out that this mix isn't what the worlds tour is going to sound like, really - that tour is going to be only my own music. all originals. (also it's going to be a blast and a visual journey and other stuff i can't talk about yet ehehe).
