"Diadéo Speaks" is a sound installation within a sculptural monument “Diadéo tresor” created by Kandis Friesen at Marion-Gräfin-Dönhoff-Platz, Berlin. Using a fictional and imaginative approach, the installation animates a stone head artifact, giving it a voice that narrates its layered story.

The soundscape unlocks portals of reconstructed memory, similar to the nature of exposed aerated concrete blocks (a material made post-WWII to build housing quickly), it is woven layers of reverb echoing stories from the past and present. Thus guiding visitors through a fluid, fragmented narrative that extends across the park. This dynamic and intimate listening experience through the Echoes app challenges traditional monuments, making history come alive and resonate through this alternative form of storytelling.
