This is an oral history interview with Greg Boland, conducted remotely between Austin, Texas and Loveland, Colorado. Mr. Boland is a marine biologist who worked at Texas A&M University and the Department of Interior (under its Minerals Management Service and Bureau of Ocean Energy). Much of his work focused on study and protection of the Flower Gardens Banks National Marine Sanctuary. The conversation was recorded on February 12, 2024 by David Todd. The Conservation History Association of Texas sponsored the interview, as part of its Texas Fauna Project. The interview focuses on Mr. Boland's background, experiences and views about the Flower Gardens.
