The city of Philadelphia has been known to birth some of the most talented and authentic hip-hop artists in recent memory. The journey most take within its borders is not for the faint of heart, and YNFL Cino is one who has thrived under the pressure. Growing up in the hood he gravitated towards rap music as well as small hustles to get by. Upon reaching middle school he developed a passion for poetry which in turn inspired him to pursue writing lyrics. Before long he was freestyling at lunch tables with friends and writing verse after verse about his varying perspectives in life. While the twenty-year-old emcee’s music has a rather raw emotional core to it with a certain vulnerability, it also has the tougher edge of hood swagger that flows through every instrumental and flow. A man of many talents, Cino also kept up with athletic pursuits and graphic design before pursuing the culinary arts in recent years. His time at Kensing- ton High School for the Creative and Performing Arts taught him a lot about song structure and stage presence, something he has applied to his debut single, “Hazy Nights.” With undeniable confidence and a bright spirit, YNFL Cino is ready to put the city in his back while moving to bigger and better places!
