Poker Flat Recordings wraps up 2024 with their annual Best
Of compilation, a carefully curated collection that captures
the year’s standout tracks from both long-time label regulars
and fresh faces in the scene. This year’s edition gathers ten
tracks, showcasing the label’s signature blend of house and
tech house that has kept it a mainstay in electronic music for
nearly 25 years.
Thorsten Hammer’s “World On Shoulders,” with vocals from
Jade PraiZe, offers a more introspective moment in the collec-
tion, adding depth and emotion to the set.
Altogether, Best of Poker Flat 2024 is a strong representation
of where the label stands today, bridging its long history with
fresh sounds and talent, and providing a solid snapshot of the
year’s achievements in underground house and tech house.
The compilation opens with a remix by label founder Steve
Bug, who brings his unique touch to Selderv’s “Igray,” setting
the stage with deep grooves and subtle textures. Highlights
include Dachshund’s "Cosy Mess", which delivers a stripped-
back yet captivating rhythm, and “It’s Always Been There” by
Qess, reworked by Cinthie to bring a warm, nostalgic vibe.
The team-up between Steve Bug and Huxley on “L.O.V.E.”
also stands out, with Ammo Avenue’s remix adding a hyp-
notic layer to this year’s release while Jim Rivers contributes
"Calycanthus".
New contributors add fresh energy to the lineup. Al Leahy’s
“Shadow Rush” receives a remix by Huxley, while Yerik US’
track “Go Go” brings a driving pulse to the mix. Dennis de
Laat features twice with “Figment Of My Mind,” featuring Jade
PraiZe and remixed by Hannes Bieger, as well as “Night
Rider,” a powerful closing track.
