Colorism in the Pilipinx Community - Malaya Mosqueda

This podcast is a little teaser of my senior capstone project at SJSU. Through three podcast episodes, I focused on the background and history behind colonial mentality and how it feeds into colorism, how skin whitening products and only light-skinned representation in Philippine media contribute to these issues, and steps our community can take to dismantle colorism. I have integrated interviews of three individuals who come from different Pilipinx backgrounds that have expertise in colorism in the Pilipinx community - SJSU assistant professor, Dr. Lesther Papa, SJSU student researcher, Nicole Estrella, and actress and influencer, Asia Jackson. My purpose through this podcast is to spread awareness on how dangerous colorism is and how we can end this generational, systemic issue in the Pilipinx culture and society.

Seems a little quiet over here
