Coastal communities nationwide remain actively engaged in clean up efforts following a string of destructive storms. These powerful tidal surges, which ravaged coastal regions in the Western, Eastern, and KwaZulu-Natal provinces, have tragically claimed at least one life while causing significant damage to vehicles, residences, and businesses.

Professor Jasper Knight, a geoscientist whose research focuses on coastal processes, joined Radio Islam International to explain the reasons behind the events.
