Andre Prine (DJ360) Andre Prine Boca Raton Andre Prine (DJ 360) has always been about setting trends…whether the pure sound of eclectic and original Hip Hop sets or the heart thumping beats he creates, his sound is unparalleled to others and leaves you with a mood-oriented fusion that synergizes all genres. There are producers of today and there are producers who truly inspire the mainstream to move forward with a conscious approach toward creativity. If you have ever been involved in the production side of Andre’s world it would be safe to say he is a visionary that never falls prey to mediocrity. I am Hip Hop...The "Rap Industry" has taken what's mine twisting the passion with profit in mind. The whole goal of this Turntable Activist is to take back what once belonged to him. We need pioneers, trendsetters, and classically trained enthusiasts to put Hip Hop back on the map. The early 80’s had Andre (DJ 360) involved in a new underground art coming out of New York City pulling inspiration from such groups as Afrika Bambaataa, Mantronix, Eric B & Rakim, and Public Enemy to fine tune what would be known as his signature style. A vinyl junkie at heart, Andre began to dig in vintage record shops finding every break beat and rarity that was not on the minds or playlists of his counterparts. With the conventional breakthroughs of the SP 1200 and the Akai MPC 60 Andre’s output of audio manipulation crescendoed and opened up a new world of possibilities. As word of this vinyl wunderkind spread throughout the burgeoning hotbed of DJ culture that was Miami during the mid to late 80’s, Andre’s talents began to manifest in the form of obsessively detailed, four-track mixes. And on the strength of his live sets, as well as those recordings, he earned DJ slots on legendary Miami radio stations, Power 96 and Hot 105. Looking for the next phase of his organic evolution, Andre submerged himself into film school and took on higher education. A fuse began to unite his extroverted style with the cinematic backdrop of his new expression. As the worlds collided there was now substance to the straightforward syncopation that Hip Hop was serving. The next move came into play where Andre first drew inspiration: The “urban decay” of NYC. There was no better place to be than these streets for musical inspiration…Being a part of all those legendary spots during Hip Hops finest hour gave Andre the knowledge to be ahead of the musical curve. You can never replace that kind of experience and it has surely rubbed off when you listen to his well defined art. Currently Andre Prine is working with Klob a dirty throw back to blues and funk with a subtle dash of Hip Hop added in. The newest group on his roster The Change, blends a classic Hip Hop/EDM element to this new genre of anthem friendly radio hits. Also, the amazing Arbel Martin who has a dark beauty to her voice with a range that takes you to all sides of the radio dial is sure to please. He has a new single out with Miami bass legend Derrick Rahming of Afrorican called "Die For Your Country" under the pseudonym The Chameleon where the music displays a controlled chaos of booming beats with squals of military walkie talkies making you feel like your in the front lines of battle. He worked with Alternative Rockers Benzos on remixes for "Hard To Feel, "Branches", and "Sell This Thing" which have turned into cult classics. This producer/DJ creeps in with an esoteric approach to Hip Hop based production. Relying on a strong sound that is extremely visual and mood oriented, his style embraces a variety of genres, from old school to the golden era mixed in with an alternative approach that touches on electro. Regardless, his musicology is worthy of imitation in a world of mediocre and lackluster production styles that seem to dominate the airwaves. He is Hip Hop’s Hitchcock driving through sounds that are mesmerizing and dark and the longer you listen you start to see the beauty behind the beat. Don't settle for the mediocrity and let the industry tell you what's hip. We make the rules...They captialize on them. It's our turn.
