Ben Ó Faoláin Ben Ó Faoláin Ciarraí West Kerry native DJ Ben Ó Faoláin's genre-blurring eclecticism was inspired by dancefloor encounters with the djing of Coldcut, Afrika Bambaata and DJ Food while living in Bristol during the halcyon days of that city's mid-90s music scene. His 'Sweet Beat!' night is a feature of festivals and dancefloors from Belfast to Baile an Fhirtéirigh. Ben's join-the-dots musical philosophy and disregard for the trends of mainstream club-land have earned him an enthusiastic and loyal international following. Ben's years as a presenter of the seminal ‘An Taobh Tuathail’ music show on national RTE Radio saw Jim Carroll of The Irish Times label him “the best music dj on RTE Raidió na Gaeltachta.” As head music critic with Nos Magazine (www.nos.ie) since 2009, Ben always has a stash of upfront promos up his sleeve. Expect a four-deck selection joining the dots between good-time party hip hop, reggae, latin dancefloor bangers, funk, disco, afro-boogie, drum 'n' bass and a twist of contemporary electronic and tropical bass styles!
