Pedro Orsetti
Ottawa + Ciudad Guayana
Pedro Orsetti a.k.a. BLU3 BL00D [unsigned] is a Bass Music (Dubstep and Drum & Bass, specifically) and Hip-Hop DJ/Producer, Drummer, Keyboardist, Guttural Singer, Lyricist, Audio Engineer, Music Industry Arts Diploma Alumni, and Sound Designer from Ciudad Guayana, Venezuela living in Canada. Influenced by Pendulum, The Prodigy, RZA, DJ Premier, Eminem, Dr. Dre, and Kanye West, his career began in 2007 by mashing up Trance and old Rock n Roll tracks together in Virtual DJ. Later on, he started to experiment in FL Studio with his own music with no music theory background at all. In 2008, he associates with local rapper Willy K from Ciudad Guayana to record some Hip-Hop demos and produce some beats to rap on. He makes a crew with Willy K and three more people called Guayana Family, which didn’t last too long due to personal problems among them. In 2009, he starts to record more genres and develop a great taste for production. At the same time, he decides to quit the songwriting and singing as much as he was previously doing. In 2010, he opens a recording home studio called Zona Zero with financial help of his parents, and Willy K. He also meets local artist Renzzo Music, which decided to be part of the studio by helping in search of talents. From this year to 2011, he records lots of other artists’ songs, as well as producing them. By mid-2011, he moves to Ottawa, Canada, where he starts to study Music Industry Arts in Algonquin College. He also started to work on Dubstep and Drum & Bass demos based on what he started to listen during those days, and by the long time influence of Pendulum. His initial style was EDM-oriented because of the huge boom of this genre-group happening. By mid-2013, he started to change his style more towards the mid-2000s UK style (dirtier; more bass orientated). Besides having few influences in his beginnings, he starts to get influenced by old school Dubstep producers/DJs, and also by Progressive Metal/Rock, and Metalcore bands such as: Tool, Bring Me The Horizon, Bullet for my Valentine, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, etc. to add some ‘crisp’ to his sound. His sound style is quite peculiar, based on the use of Massive plugin to design from scratch every single pad, lead, and bass sound, and Sytrus to add Subs and some simulations of real instruments. Moreover, heavy compressed drums, excessive ethnic percussion hits, psychedelic atmospheres, slight automations, generic noises, and heavy layering features make his sound unique.
