Brenna Brenna Nashville, TN Gaining musical inspiration at the early age of five, Brenna has been pursuing music since the day she was blown away by the soundtrack to Disney’s Pocahontas. She spent her early years singing along to the radio and to movies. Her passion for music grew to performing cover solos at various events. In high school, she joined her youth group band as a background singer and then decided in college to double major in music and Spanish. Brenna is deeply animated by diversity. Her many influences in music range from Rock and metal to latino, country, and blues. Brenna states that “What really gets me about music is when I hear a song that puts into words the truth of what I feel about my situation when I am having trouble doing so myself.” She finds this release in many different styles of music. Also contributing to this diversity are Brenna’s travels. Brenna has spent half of her life growing up in the South and half of her life in the West. She has also most recently spent three months living in Mexico and enjoys marrying her Spanish skills with her music. Moving around and experiencing diverse locations has added to her growth as an artist by teaching her how different cultures express their views of life through media and daily living. Some more important aspects that Brenna strives to achieve in her music are profound honesty and excellence. She desires to add a different take to her song topics with honesty and to speak the truth. She wishes to challenge herself in both her lyrics and her music; to learn new instruments and new ways of writing in both mediums, and to connect with the audience in the same acute way in which she is connected with artists and songs she hears.
