10 - Homesick Astronaut by Brickfoot published on 2020-05-28T19:20:13Z Lost Marbles Vol. I, the 1st of 2 volumes, each containing 10 songs spanning 20 years of the Mid-Atlantic Rock band, Brickfoot. Brickfoot was started in 1996 and remained active, playing live shows, touring and recording 5 albums released independently up until about 2014 with the release of their studio album, 'When I'm Gone'. Over the years of recording demos and studio albums, Brickfoot started to amass a catalog of songs that for one reason or another, never made it to a commercial release. What started out as a project to pass time during the COVID-19 Quarantine, turned into a full fledged recording and mixing project for the band. The more material that was uncovered, Brickfoot realized they could release two volumes of material. Some are songs recorded during studio sessions for albums with Producer Jim Fairchild (Grandaddy, Modest Mouse) and Erin Espinoza (Earlimart, Admiral Radley). Most were songs or demos recorded in guitarist Frank Chiovaro's home studio over the years. Some of the songs were in demo form and completed as the mixing of the album was taking place. Each Volume contains one cover song; Vol. I features a studio cover of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young's 'Country Girl' and Vol II features a 2018 live performance of the Beatles, 'I Want You (She's So Heavy). Brickfoot doesn't profess that these are perfect albums, however. Most of these songs were recorded with the intent that they were "just a demo", with the intent that perhaps they would be re-recorded for release at some point. Some of them were recorded 20 years ago. One of them was recorded on a cassette 8 -track recorder. This is not meant to be a disclaimer. Brickfoot is very proud of these recordings and happy that they can once and for all, be released. Genre Alternative Rock
