Cabby
Denver
Robert “Cabby” Darnell According to his late-loving mother, his birth certificate indicates his name is Robert Darnell. However, he is recognized from coast to coast as Cabby. The fact of the matter is the world of hip-hop and beyond the facet of entertainment simply calls him Cabby- a nickname derived from his estranged father’s favorite mixed drink. Consequently, Cabby was raised by his single mother in the gang-infested East Village Projects on the Eastside of Denver, Colorado.
As a result of living the fast life in an atmosphere full of hostility- while witnessing a number of horrific unforeseen circumstances, Cabby decided to turn those hard-knock situations into positivity. Cabby studied, read and stayed plugged in at all times listening to hip-hop’s greatest legends; like the late-great lyricist of Tupac and Biggie, LL Cool J, Big Daddy Kane and many more. This stirred up Cabby’s passion for perfecting his skills as a rhymester, which burst out as food for thought that’s strictly for the streets- landing him many late nights in the studio.
In '05, Cabby’s competitiveness became apparent, Cabby’s new way of thinking permitted the universe to open up, which lead Cabby to collaborate with Big Mike, CEO of “Too Much Entertainment,” an Independent Record Label. As a result, Cabby received the backing he needed to spend more time in the studio.
In addition, “Too Much Entertainment produced Cabby’s mixtape “Monopolize” that eventually provoked the hip-hop industry with a hot new single, as well as a video called “Left Lane,” featuring Yung Joc. Subsequently, the hot single “Left Lane” was featured as a brand new sizzling joint on BET’s 106 & Park that jumped in rotation on MTV Jams and became a top contending video on Mtv U. Also, “Left Lane” hit the top 20 Urban/Mediabase, 24/7 All Access Billboard charts- gaining both regional and national recognition in the streets. In saying that, March of 2012, Cabby was featured in XXL Magazine featuring the single “Left Lane” while Biggie Smalls being on the cover celebrating their 25th Anniversary. On top of that, the mixtape “Monopolize” gained close to 100,000 downloads on Datpiff the first week the single was out!
Trust and believe the entrepreneurial spirit is a partial persona of Cabby’s personality. With all that, Cabby’s hot singles “Let Me See It,” “Choir Music,” and “Foreign Swagg,” off the “Monopolize” mixtape- is already being backed up with blazing videos.
It’s obvious that Cabby’s on his grind at all the times-leaving many behind. In addition, Cabby’s new video “Foreign Swagg” will be featured on MTV, BET, Foot Locker and On- Demand Billboard song chart; therefore, be on the lookout for that! As it stands, Cabby is always in those friendly skies loving the life of a superstar. What’s more, if this isn’t enough information, go to Google and search Cabby; followed by those obvious key words “Left Lane” “Choir Music,” “Let Me See It,” and of course, “Foreign Swagg,”
