The song captures the wistfulness and melancholy of any kind of longing. The song didn't have a name for a long time and was just known as "the new song", until a small gig at Newport Bowls Club, where an elderly patron approached the girls after they had asked the audience to help them name the song. He politely handed them a small folded piece of paper with the name "Sky Watching" written on it in perfect old-fashioned handwriting. Recorded at Head Gap Studio by Neil Thomason as well as by Nick Huggins and Mabel Windred-Wornes. Produced by Mabel Windred-Wornes and Nick Huggins in Point Lonsdale, VIC. Mastered by Sam John at Precise Mastering, Scotland, UK.
