Fine Lines by BJÖRN CLOPPENBURG published on 2023-02-12T13:33:11Z „Feine Linien“ Dies ist eine weitere Fortsetung meiner Musikreihe in loser Folge : Anthologie „Nacht Musik“ Fragile einsame Selbstgespräche, zerbrechliche Zwiegespräche. The night is the transition to another dimension of time. We definitely feel a certain deceleration. On our night walk we sometimes look for landmarks and are grateful for even the smallest inconspicuous waymarks. It's the fine lines on sidewalks and streets that guide us. During the day in everyday life we hardly notice them. We take them for granted unconsciously. But at night, those inconspicuous lines of “path and road markings” take on a whole new meaning as signposts through our night. Ok, some are wider but never seem pretentious to me. It's still fine lines for me. We suddenly pay attention to these lines. Now they catch our eye and are somehow very grateful that these lines are there. All of us a safe way through the night. Thank you for your valued attention. Some pieces must be heard twice before wishing you had not heard them in the first place. This piece must be heard twice, before wishing to hear it again, and again. 2023-02-16T05:05:21Z Comment by Konrad Spittelberg A very tender dive into the richness of harmonies and overtones of the piano. What is striking is the discipline on display particularly in the opening. Mahler's magnificent reluctance, in the Adagietto to return to the centre of the diatonic scale (Mahler keeps us waiting) is the same discipline on display in Cloppenburg's opening.
