Coltin Ayres Coltin Ayres Dallas Coltin Ayres is a singer and songwriter, with a unique sound that brings together the best of Americana, folk, rock, and traditional country. With his unique voice and channeling the songwriting styles of John Prine, Steve Earle, and Townes Van Zandt, Coltin has a very original sound. Coltin grew up in the music scene with his father showing him the ropes at an early age. "I rememeber driving around in my dad's old truck listening to 8-tracks of everyone from Waylon to John Prine to The Rolling Stones," says Coltin. Pairing his diverse taste in music and his unique outlook on life, his original songs range from about anything from addiction to questioning religious teachings. Coltin started his musical journey at the end of high school, but did not start pursuing it seriously until his college days at Tarleton State in Stephenville, TX, learning all he could from the local heavy hitters. While taking some time off from the music scene in Colorado, Coltin began to find his own sound, deriving inspiration from indie and folk music. Now residing in Dallas he is ready to start pushing his music to a new level. With his mix of genres and outlooks from his time spent traveling, he has a variety of original songs that are sure to pull your heart string, while getting stuck in your head..
