We cling to the unknown, hoping for answers that are buried in the rubble of fear. Little do we stop and sit with what is happening, selfishly believing we can worry our way out of trouble. Worry is defined as giving way to anxiety or unease; allows one's mind to dwell on difficulty or troubles. I don't know about you, but my mind can glide to worrying in a millisecond. But who really wants to live their life in worry? The K.I.S.S. ~ Wait to worry! Just as you are to wait upon the Lord, you too are to wait to worry. Because worry causes so many unnecessary symptoms. You go to the doctor and tell them how you are feeling. They listen to your complaints and concerns, normally only giving you hope by relieving your symptoms. But wouldn't it be more productive and healing if you could find the root cause and treat it from that perspective? Of course! That's why God doesn't want you to live in the rubble of fear. Instead, He desires you to lay everything at the foot of the cross. Give it to Him. Now yes, you can actively wait on the Lord (Psalm 27:14) and do what you can in the situation that you are in. But the hurry and scurry of your mind wandering through the fields of despair and worry only traps your hope and engulfs your heart. There you sit with no direction and little faith. "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." ~ Philippians 4:6 NIV Wait to worry! God's got you! Every day in every situation. You getting all worked up about what you can't control leads to more distress. No wonder you are a walking zombie with little hope you'll get out of this situation unmarked. Don't worry about the scars. God covers you. Don't worry about the next steps. God opens the doors. Don't worry about the solutions. God is already working on your behalf. What you must do is wait to worry. Matthew 6:25-34 NIV 25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? 28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Actively seek God every day. See the blessings amongst the rubble of fear. That's where it becomes diluted and resolved. God's providential care covers you. It's His divine intervention for you. My prayer for you is to let God lead you so you can.... "Master today to impact tomorrow!" ~ Kristianne Wargo "Be present. Be incredible.
