Distort The 909 Maria 909 TR909 Brooklyn Opinionated, Honest, Sarcastic & Obnoxious Hardcore Chick from Brooklyn..... I Am Always Reaching For The Star That Glimmers With Hope. Party promoter & hostess. Music & Dance that's what it is all about........... I am a disciple of music and have had a fetish for vinyl at an early age. My earliest memories were those of playing with my cousins records from the age of 5. I remember wishing I was older cause I wanted to go to all the clubs they were going to (The Funhouse stood out the most). I remember buying my first record Miquel Brown - So Many Men So Little Time in 1983 at Ceaser's Bay Bazaar And it was all over from that point on. I spent every penny I had on records. One Day in the early 80's, thanks to the guiding of The Roller Palace (local skating rink), my real musical education began. I went to The Roller Palace religiously every sat to skate & listen to Lenny Dee & Frankie Bones DJ till they closed there doors for good. I followed these two musical masterminds around and started to buy my records at Groove on Ave U. Unfortunately The Groove Crew abandoned Brooklyn and moved the shop into Manhattan. One day when I was 14 yrs I walked into the rave scene of the early 90's and The Limelight. When I walked into The Limelight, I knew what my destiny was. I started out as a flyer girl & did the call list for Anthony acid who DJ'd lord Michael's Future Shock Parties. I then went on to help out with the hardcore & techno parties on Thursdays & promoted every other night there. On the rave side of it I promoted parties for Guaranteed Overdose, Infinity & The McMuffin Family, Industrial Strength Records and a lot more. In 2000 along with Tony Diangelis, Siege, Shane Fontane and Michael Francis I went back to work for Peter Gatien & did parties at both Limelight & Tunnel until the clubs closed their doors for good. After the devastation of the closing of Limelight and Tunnel I went to work on the vinyl side of the music industry I have worked for such companies as Watts Music Distribution (Some of the Best yrs of my life), UDG -Ultimate DJ Gear with Ralphie Dee, Unique Distribution & assistant to the owners of Club Stereo NYC. When the music & club industries calmed down I decided to go Back to school and attain my associates in applied sciences for broadcasting. I became The Music Director Of the college radio station 90.3 WKRB www.WKRB.org and helped to build a format where all music was exposed. As of right now during the day I am the humbled & honored assistant to Judy Weinstein of DefMix Productions.
