A ROUND OF APPLAUSE FOR THE DJ(S) by DJSMB published on 2023-04-05T07:12:30Z A group of young ladies hit the club where they encounter a great DJ. He keeps them dancing most of the night, but the party gets real when the infamous DJ Sugar Daddy drops in for a surprise guest set. His beats have the ladies swaying. Then Sugar Daddy's best DJ friend, the great Rock Master Scott takes over the turntables, and takes a few requests. The songs the crowd asks for send the club into a frenzy, and the rumors about the greatness of that evening transform RMScott & Sugar D into overnight sensations. Their phones are blowing up the next day. They are DJ stars! Their next sets are supernatural demonstrations of mixing. Some say their mixes save lives. They release a new track with their friend DJ Opus at their next show. Opus does a B2B with DJ Swan, and then TJ Swan does a guest set. However, before he can finish his set, the great Egyptian Lover asks to jump on the turntables, and he mixes in an electro classic that refines the crowd's respect for all DJs. As the Egyptian Lover is stepping down from the booth--out of the the shadows steps one of the most renowned DJs of all: The legendary Sweety G! Sweet takes the mic & commands all to GET DOWN! The crowd starts dealing serious rugs. Sweety plays banging beats, songs of summer fun, and rap classics. While stepping back from the decks, Sweety notices that the debonair Mark Smooth must have walked into the booth during his mix. Mark asks Sugar D & if he can drop a quick set. They nod. Mark Smooth drops a set of exceedingly sexy rhythms. All funk grooves. disco hits, and deep boogie beats. The crowd falls in love with Mark's mixing. Even the snobbiest ladies and most stuck up dudes accept that his mix is just too tough. Somewhere before the last few songs in Mark's set, all of the DJs, Mark included, leave the booth to dance with the crowd and catch the vibe. During this elevation of the dance party, Butch Dayo himself takes it upon himself to man the turntables, and he drops a hit titled "You Can Do It" right when the track's vocal rings in with the resounding lyrics of "Welcome to the Party." The sheer raucous loudness draws even the most self absorbed people in the surrounding area to the club, and many narcissistic ladies and men crash the party by bribing the bouncer, but once inside, the vibes are just too joyous for their negative karma to last. As the night turns to dawn, Dayo decides to leave the decks because it is getting late. But the crowd is still dancing and crying out for more & more. In the midst of the chanting and roaring, no one notices Moodymann slither up to the top of the booth. He drops one of his deep house jams, and the crowd is in the throes of serious dancefloor bliss. Moody's mix takes the crowd on a sonic tour of all dance music. People are crying tears of joy. Moody takes some time to bask in the glory before turning over the decks to a mysterious & enchanting DJ who refers to herself simply as The Lady DJ. She plays nothing but throwbacks--not to mention "Reckless" by Chris the Glove Taylor. Moodymann watched the entirety of The Lady DJ's set in a state of transfixed awe. As The Lady DJ mixes in the last song of the night, Moodymann asks the crowd for a round of applause for The Lady DJ. Everyone stops dancing to applaud The Lady DJ. The whole crowd is still clapping after the lights have come up. Comment by 96.FM I like the classic grooves here.
