Yoga Nidra For Deep Relaxation And Healing | with Dorothy Ratusny by Dorothy Zennuriye Juno published on 2020-05-15T12:19:44Z This Yoga Nidra guides you into a state of deep relaxation, allowing the body and mind to heal and repair. Practice this whilst doing your best to remain awake and attentive; following my guidance as you bring presence into each moment; as you hold awareness as we move through the parts of the body and as you choose a sankalpa or intention, inspired by your deepest wisdom. For more on setting an intention or Sankalpa, please check out this episode of The WISDOM podcast: https://www.dorothyratusny.com/podcast/harness-the-power-of-intention-your-sankalpa-sanskrit-the-wisdom-podcast-season-1-episode-14/ I began studying yoga nidra meditations some time ago after experiencing them for myself and feeling a deep sense of inner calm and stillness that I had not experienced in a very long time. Yoga nidra is a little-known ancient meditation technique explained as transformational sleep. It evokes within you brainwave states similar to those in sleep, where the biology of your body is able to disengage from thoughts. After a time in these conscious sleep states, I wake feeling deeply relaxed and at peace. I enjoy taking a Yoga Nidra break during my workday for some gentle guided practice that I know is offering healing beyond what I am even aware of. I wanted to create some of my own Yoga Nidra Meditations to enjoy hearing the sound of my own voice as I experience this highly regenerative meditative state in which one can restore and rejuvenate the body, heal and recover from illness and re-wire our brain for greater mental and emotional balance and resiliency. Since most seated forms of meditation can be challenging; meditation for many beginners and for students in general, can be more about the effort or the result rather than the experience of the technique. In Yoga Nidra, the technique itself is composed of a series of body, breath, and awareness techniques designed to effortlessly guide you into a state of complete non-doing. I hope that you will enjoy this Yoga Nidra practice and easily assimilate into your weekly routine of self-care and self-love. Namaste! xo Find this meditation on The Wisdom Archives.
