FaceWave Face Wave Brecon FaceWave mess with improvised live electronics. Originating in 2007, they were caught tampering with various shakers, beaters, honk boxes and synths. Debut E.P. ‘Your Face is my Face’ was filled with loose limbed squonking noises and shambolic everything else. It won over about 5 fans. Follow up E.P. ‘Know where your parents live’ was rubbish, truth be told. Not recommended. Then FaceWave ditched the primary school music box and got all tangled up in wires. Refreshed, they made an E.P. ‘Reset the Clocks’ was so called because it was like starting again. Time travelling if you will. Everything was live and done on the spot in Coneybear studios. Dead exciting and pats on backs all round. Then FaceWave kept evolving and delved into the Year of Peace, mountains and the Welsh language. They made ‘Dail a Haearn’ just before Christmas, and listened to it on a journey back from a snow hunt in the Brecon Beacons and it sounded right. It’s now available on Last.fm. Following time spent in minus conditions in a north Wales barn and a brain altering day long odyssey on Cowbridge Road, Cardiff, FaceWave found themselves recording ‘Treasure Sounds’ in Windproof Studios. That’s available now too and it puts your ears to use. Sometime later and quite recent to now FaceWave re located each other on a road to Llandovery. Here they assembled their latest offering 'Hanner Ffordd' which doesn't come with any form of description - best listen to it I guess. Diolch yn fawr.
