Jessmons Biography Jesse Herbert Palmerston North. I started my involvement with DJ work in 1995 when I assisted a friend who was the DJ for the Breakfast Show at Massey University, Palmerston North. At the same time I had lessons on how to use the turn tables. I bought my fist set of turntables that year and very quickly fell in love with the art of turntablism and intrigued by the complexity of mixing styles and use of different techniques. In 1998 I was approached by the manager of Harvesters Café and offered a DJ residency. Since then I have enjoyed the experiences of playing at events, in bars, schools and weddings at various locations around New Zealand. At the end of 2006, I established a local radio station “107.5 FM The Paddle”. This has been set up as a non profit project to provide an alternative form of music appreciation and local exposure for NZ turntable DJs as well as fostering MC talent.
