FRD KREW
Tunis City Zoo

FRD KREW is a multidisciplinary collective that aims at creating solid and true foundations for urban and alternative culture in Tunisia. It is made up of 9 friends, artists and activists evolving in a common universe, that revolves around music, graphics, graffiti, photo, video.
Born in 2010, the collective first started by creating the "FRIDAY MIX SESSIONS" a free and weekly rendez-vous which main objective is to attract an heterogeneous audiance of music lovers and make them dance to music they can't hear anywhere else (Funk, HipHop, Dubstep, Break, Electro, Techno, Drum & Bass) and to offer a new and different graphic universe via creative and edgy flyers.
Success was immediate and the KREW managed to throw more than fifty parties in one year.
In January 2011, the F.R.D. BLOG was created. It serves as a visual and musical communication platform in order for the KREW members to share their works and inspirations.
Acting as the KREW's manifesto , the blog generates almost 15 000 visits in six months, thus strengthening its unique visual identity.
Since April 2011, graffiti takes a significant role in the KREW's activities, and is practiced in its purest form: in the streets.
As opposed to how it is usually practiced in Tunisia, the KREW once again stands out from the crowd, sharing its art works with everyone.
In July 2011, the collective takes part in the first exclusively graphic exhibition in Tunisia.
The KREW distinguishes itself with its unique touch.
Thanks to this strong background, FRD KREW is often invited to take part in a variety of renowned cultural events such as : Le Printemps des Arts (two years in a row), Le Festival Méditerranéen de la Guitare, Esmaani, Break To Be Free, Le Festival des Esprits Libres Tunisiens during which the KREW collaborates with local and international artists in legendary places like Le Palais Abdellia (La Marsa), L'Acropolium (Carthage), Le Théâtre Municipal (Tunis), Houch Khraief (Gabès).
The KREW is often scheduled to perform in many events in Tunisia, taking place in several establishments: Le Blanko (with the weekly FRIDAY MIX SESSIONS), Le KM5, La Suite, Le Piranha, Le Sindbad, Le Bœuf Sur Le Toit, Le Musée Dar Chéraït, Chak Wak, L'Odéon, Le Peace & Love, Le Barcelo, Le Club 71, Le Kopa Poza, Le Jalta, but also in Paris at the Planète Mars or the Bottle Shop.
FRD KREW continues its quest for innovation and mixity, nurturing the difference that makes it outstanding in the eyes of a devoted and growing fan base
