On the line will be the final women's Paris 2024 Olympic spot available through this qualifying pathway, with three teams – Ireland, Fiji, and Great Britain – all still able to secure the final ticket awarded through the World Women's Sevens Series. The World Rugby Sevens Series now returns to Toulouse and you can watch it live in Australia. Heading into the Toulouse Sevens, the New Zealand men qualified for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games after winning the Singapore Sevens. If they make the final in Toulouse, they will claim the overall World Rugby Series title for this season, their 14th overall. Argentina, Fiji, Australia, Samoa and South Africa are all still in Olympic contention, so will be looking to claim vital points in Toulouse to help further their cause to grab one of the remaining 3 slots available. Meanwhile, Toulouse will be the last event for the women's tournament. New Zealand also lead the table here and only need to finish ninth or better to win the World Rugby Sevens Series title. Considering they've finished no lower than runners-up throughout every tournament of the series, you'd expect them to easily do so here. Places are also up for grabs to qualify for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and so far New Zealand, Australia and the USA have already done so in the women's tournament. Ireland, Fiji and Great Britain will be battling it out in Toulouse for the 1 remaining slot. Fiji are the defending champions for the Toulouse Sevens in the men's competition, while New Zealand are the current title holders in the women's competition. Twelve players head to Toulouse Sevens following a memorable Hong Kong tournament, where the team earned early qualification to the 2024 Olympics. With qualification secured, the USA will focus on repeated results they had all season, medaling at all but one tournament thus far. If the USA once again find the podium, it will set a single season record for most medals in the program’s history, at six. Ilona Maher remains out with a healing ankle, while two-way threat Sammy Sullivan rejoins the group. Summer Harris-Jones joins the squad in Toulouse following a tour with the 15s in Spain. A strong pool awaits the Eagles, with New Zealand headlining Pool A and Canada and Poland bringing their own strengths. HSBC Toulouse Sevens kicks off Friday, May 12, LIVE on Peacock.
