Lost generation by Fundacja Glos Ewangelii published on 2023-02-01T11:09:41Z In the 1980s a social worker named Margaret Humphreys exposed what became one of the biggest scandals of the time. Her investigation revealed that between 1940 and 1967, the British government sent more than 150,000 children from British orphanages to countries such as Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and South Africa. Although the children were promised sunshine and oranges, what many of them found abroad was labor, violence, and loneliness. Margaret Humphreys' memoirs inspired a movie called "Oranges and Sunshine". In this radio exclusive we will hear the story of Roy Brake, one of the deported children.
