Galeano Galeano is an Afro-Latin, Roots Rock band, formed by Grammy Award-Winner and two time nominee, José Galeano, essential member, songwriter, percussionist and front man of Grupo Fantasma. While growing up in Nicaragua José was influenced by the music of his uncle "Chepito" Areas, percussionist and timbale player for Santana and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer. José began performing at the age of six and has since had the honor of traveling across the globe with musical legends such as Prince, Sheila-E, Larry Harlow and Maceo Parker. He has performed at world-renowned festivals like Austin City Limits Festival, Bonnaroo, North Sea Jazz Festival and The Montreal Jazz Festival. Debut solo cd, Mezclado, is a personal journey filled with pride but absent of pretense, and a reflection of an artist who has used his gift as a musician to express a strong yet positive message full of gratitude.
