George Leary
George Leary was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, in 1982. Being introduced to electronic music at a young age, when he attended warehouse parties, his first mixing work was recorded on actual cassette tapes with music derived from the radio. He started working with vinyl at the age of 17, won 2nd place at Technics ‘Young Blood’ ’99 competition in Johannesburg, followed by his participation in Love Parade, SA at Truth Club in 2001.
He got his first radio show at KLIK FM 88.0, in 2002, when he moved to Greece. Being a co-founder of Truth Productions, he featured as Guest DJ at M.T.V. Med Dance Tour ’02, Crete. He was the resident DJ at Homus OpenAir, Crete, (2002-2003) and also resident DJ & co-promoter at Fusion Dancefloor (2003-2004).
He came up with the concept of ElektrikAudio in 2005 and has since been hosting private parties and gigs in venues around Crete, whilst devoting his time to music production and graphic design projects.
He has played with: Hernan Cattaneo, Mo shic, Sasha, James Zabiela, John Digweed, Carl Cox, Quiwer, Phil Thompson, Dave Seaman, Jeff Mills, G-Pal, James Holden, Christian Cambas, Lee Burridge, Steve Lawler, Deep Dish, Sister Bliss, Slam, Joyce Mercedes, Scarlette Ettiene, Parks and Wilson, Misja Kelsloot, Michelle de Hey, Yousef, amongst others.
