ghunghru 049 // su baykal / The Shape of Memory by ghunghru published on 2021-05-09T17:34:01Z by @su-baykal, curated by @eeeeeeeugenia "This mix is based on how I used to feel going swimming in high school. I’d go after class on Fridays. Once I started swimming, I would feel completely sheltered from the the world as though I had ceased to exist in the world and the world ceased to exist for me. All I thought about was the water and how I moved through it. I remember the clarity of being in there, the blue that was everywhere, how it felt like I was in on some sort of secret that I had no access to when I got out. I’d follow the furious clouds of bubbles kicked up by the person ahead for what felt like forever, in mesmerized form, stretching my arms forward, kicking my legs behind me, going back and forth, back and forth. I would feel my heart get louder and louder in my ears as I got tired. My limbs would start to feel heavy, it would get harder and harder to float, my breaths would become gasps and I would know I was almost done. I knew that the water could hold only me for so long."
