The Devil makes work for idle hands...(video) by The Irate Pirates published on 2018-11-30T22:39:40Z The Devil makes work for idle hands I stand up for my songs, warts 'an all. That's my call... RosesAreBlue / Faerytale / Little lone Waltz /The Secret Red Orchestra https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pBCdykdVHvQ A mix of four songs, recorded over four years, played simultaneously and NOTHING MOVED BACK OR FORWARD IN TIME, just fades in or out and some panning. All tracks in original tempo and key. Just let 'em collide. I used a similar technique in 'How to Rescue a Mermaid' placing the vocals from Rose alongside my earlier piano / vocal sketch which was different to the mix I'd sent for her to work on. I tried to have at least two songs playing at any one time but couldn't keep that going for the entire track but pretty close. You can see in the pic how it worked. The original songs are fine but the 'combo' took some top off. Genre Experimental Comment by Lizzie Taypen Superb creativity.......beautifully intuited! 2019-02-03T11:42:04Z Comment by Couch King Presents 4 songs played simultaneously! love it! very efficient and effective for busy times! i remember other songs that would do this with two tracks, love how you take it to 4!!! 2019-01-18T14:26:21Z Comment by Negative Headphone Wonderful song. Love this mash-up Lenny 2018-12-05T22:34:03Z Comment by Jonathan Beckenstein Well that quite worked! For all the geekery it may have taken, I find it rather organic and musical. 2018-12-04T20:42:28Z Comment by The Secret Red Orchestra A joyous amalgamation of music and voices, which could easily be construed as serendipitous, but I suspect, like a gliding swan, the hard work has been undertaken out of sight. Very well done Mr Vortex. 2018-12-02T18:29:35Z Comment by Phil McWalter That last comment in the 'liner notes' indicates a techy approach you have previously kept under your winter blanket... interesting and intriguing... 2018-12-02T14:55:22Z Comment by Phil McWalter Number 9, Number 9, Number 9 but a much more wonderful revolution. Really enjoyed this collision of misty wonders. Supposedly, number nine backwards is “turn me on dead man.” This turned me on. What a great experiment, I would love to ask why but in light of its success, I could not possibly be so intrusive. Just playing again... 2018-12-02T14:52:07Z Comment by Nicholas Ridiculous Great production to meld these together so seamlessly 2018-12-02T14:39:33Z
