Passionate, hardworking, and endlessly devoted to his craft, Giovanni della Piuma is an accomplished musician, DJ, and sound designer who is currently working in the Netherlands.
Giovanni’s passion for music started at a young age when he learned how to play the flute and trumpet. Then, as a teenager, he played in numerous roadshows using his own equipment, playing music from vinyl and cassettes.
Ben Liebrand, who produced master mixes on the Dutch National Radio, inspired Giovanni’s early career and led him to mix his own tapes.
He also had an organization, “The Party Syndicate” which organized a number of events.
Giovanni also has a long history of being a DJ. It started out as making tapes as a hobby but grew to become more professional over the years. From the mid 80’s to the early 90’s, Giovanni had a rental company that rented out DJ sets, but he left that career to pursue other musical interests. In the years after, he started making music and had several releases.
Currently, Giovanni works as a remixer, artist, sound designer, and DJ. He recently sold his first sound library and enjoys collaborating with vocalists, musicians, and DJs from all over the world. He especially enjoys Dance Music like tech-house, techno, and IDM. What sets Giovanni apart from other musicians is that he has a comprehensive knowledge of analog electronics, which he studied after high school. He is now familiar with many MIDI and audio tools like Native Instruments Machine, Traktor, Ableton, and Autodidakt in addition to being a sound designer and engineer. Per his background, Giovanni also stays abreast of technological advances and enjoys learning more about them through reading manuals , magazine artiles and by watching instructional videos.
In his spare time, Giovanni enjoys hiking, travelling, windsurfing, playing badminton, mountain biking, watching movies, and exploring spiritual interests.
