Goldcap - The Unhealing Wound by Goldcap published on 2015-04-23T18:46:54Z In honor of the 1.5 million souls who were lost in the Armenian Genocide of 1915, I've prepared a 2 hour compilation showcasing some of my favorite Armenian songs & ballads. This will not make easy listening for most, as it ventures into somber hymns and percussion driven dances, as well as some informative narratives. On a personal level, I am dedicating this mix to my great grandfather, Nishan Panosian, who fought in the Armenian resistance group known as the Fedayis. He was one of the handful of men to serve under Murad Pasha, fighting to defend his homeland and his people from the tyrannical Ottoman Empire. To this day the Turkish government denies all claims of a Genocide having taken place, and the United States is reluctant to accept it from fear of damaging it's alliances with Turkey. This April 24th marks the 100 year Centennial, and the last chance for these atrocities to be recognized as a genocide before the history books are closed on this matter forever. No matter what the political outcome of this year bring. Our voices will echo throughout eternity. I sincerely hope you enjoy this mix.
