2023.10.29 Mallee Dawn in Spring with Pied Butcherbird: Perspective 2 by Hearing Beings published on 2023-11-11T12:41:05Z Two rigs simultaneously recording the same dawn within the same landscape, located about half a kilometre apart. The beautiful calls of a Pied Butcherbird can be heard from each location. Its first two sequences of calls are nearer to the first location (Perspective 1), in the background of a flurry of foreground bird activity. Its third sequence of calls are very near to the second location (Perspective 2), within a rather different soundscape mood. But all three sequences are heard from both locations, either as distant or as near. Recorded respectfully on the land of the Meru and Danggali peoples. There's a perfect balance of depth and we get a great understanding of the space. 2023-11-13T09:24:45Z Comment by Hearing Beings First PB passage: 01:59 to 03:15 (First and second passages are nearest to the other rig, half a kilometre away.) 2023-11-11T23:52:20Z Comment by Hearing Beings Second PB passage: 05:24 to 07:27 (First and second passages are nearest to the other rig, half a kilometre away.) 2023-11-11T23:51:38Z Comment by Hearing Beings Third PB passage: 09:02 to 12:04 (This passage is nearest to the present rig.
