Control Breath(disquiet0359) by Henk Lasschuit published on 2022-05-01T21:22:44Z My submission for the Disquiet Junto 0539: Let your slow breathing guide a piece of music. I recorded my breath and loaded it into Nysthi's Quad Simpler. I derived two melodies, a fast one and a slow bass melody, by applying sample & hold to the recording. The loudness of the recording also controls the brightness of the high melody. And then I introduced two more melodies that may have been inspired by Tangerine Dream's Atem and Pink Floyd's Breathe. The tempo is an approximation of the speed of my breath, but since my breathing is not perfectly regular, there is no strict rhythm in the whole piece.
