Sawdust Serenade (JP6K synth) by Immanencer published on 2024-01-31T21:24:20Z Immanencer presents: A Sawdust Sandwich or "Fun With Saws Without Risking Any Fingers" Created entirely using the JP6K synthesizer for the January 2024 KVR One Synth Challenge number 179, this track marks a tribute to the mighty supersaw oscillator that debuted within the Roland JP8000 synth in 1996. The JP6K synth (by Adam Szabo) is based on just the supersaw oscillator from the JP8000/8080. This oscillator is free-running, mono, can morph between saw and supersaw waveforms, and includes a noise oscillator. There's a filter (HP/LP/BP, 12 or 24dB/oct), and on-board effects are limited to a delay, bass knob, and treble knob. Genre Electronic Comment by ontrackp I like the sounds a lot but it's hard to feel how the sections hang together and some of the balance seems off to me, the louder sounds are always a little too loud so the whole thing doesn't feel like an integrated mix. 2024-02-15T20:55:41Z Comment by Kyle Benjamin The sounds in this tune are wonderful. 2024-02-15T02:42:59Z Comment by Impedance Music I like how it goes into shuffle around here. I don't know why but everything that goes into an 1/3 measure sounds like Jarre / Oxygène to me, which makes me automatically like it XD Also nice change up around 3:37 :) 2024-02-14T20:09:08Z Comment by Andy Richmond Excellent counter point. Cool development. 2024-02-14T17:49:47Z Comment by Andy Richmond Love that huge verby horn synth patch. Nice production. This had both experimental electronic vibe and EDM vibes. Also love that melody. 2024-02-14T17:48:42Z Comment by ElVicente Yeah counterpoint 2024-02-13T12:35:54Z Comment by ElVicente subtle rythm morphing! 2024-02-13T12:33:02Z Comment by SilverPants I have a JP8000 in the attic! I also LOVE the supersaw sound. You've used it well. This is one of my favourites this month. 2024-02-12T18:52:09Z Comment by Robert Chavez That was a cool surprise! 2024-02-11T17:38:25Z Comment by ELEX This is a nice little spooky Q&A game here. You might have expanded on that, instead of starting again. It feels to me like this middle section of the track tries to cram too much ideas in too small a space. Good sounds, though. 2024-02-11T12:45:04Z Comment by SilverPants what a wonderful journey. I'm glad the percussion is used sparingly, myself. I will listen to this a few times and really get into it. I need new headphones. 2024-02-11T09:12:37Z Comment by NeverBeenInARiot Lots of great sounds from a great wee synth. Nice hooks throughout a meandering arrangement, with a solid mix. 2024-02-09T09:50:10Z Comment by MadMcMan i really enjoyed this 2024-02-07T18:29:53Z Comment by MadMcMan really nice arp 2024-02-07T18:26:44Z Comment by abot81 This section has an almost baroque-ness to it. I think if you were able to add a bunch more detail to the percussion it would take it to the next level 2024-02-04T02:57:06Z Comment by abot81 Quite an interesting piece of music. Love the juxtaposing of different elements 2024-02-04T02:55:57Z Comment by Ondes Memorielles Very beautiful hook... 2024-02-03T07:41:31Z Comment by Negoba Lots of fun ear candy 2024-02-02T22:47:25Z Comment by Negoba Metric modulation! 2024-02-02T22:46:12Z Comment by Autonym I like this small part of chaos 2024-02-01T22:19:22Z Comment by Autonym Now I'm teased 2024-02-01T22:16:12Z Comment by Immanencer Right here I was trying to go for the classic @SilverPants sound, circa 2022! 2024-01-31T22:19:02Z Comment by Cdbaksu hey it's a good effort, there are some decent sounds, nice job! 2024-01-31T22:19:01Z
