The Spin-off Doctors: Dead Or Alive by Jimquisition published on 2016-08-16T16:04:57Z Join Jaime Pressly, Holly Valance, and Kevin Nash on DOA Island for one of the most surprising movies we've ever reviewed. DOA: Dead or Alive is surprisingly not terrible. In fact, it's actually rather funny. Genre Entertainment Comment by Carol Nichols 💟so greeat soong!❣ 2022-06-09T01:08:18Z Comment by AlexZ No, PUA has existed since the 80s 2021-12-22T21:06:14Z Comment by Jade Rodriguez It's not really though is it? at least in the games when they aren't real they're digital models the equivalent of a doll. It's only objectifying of you can't separate games from reality. 2019-07-14T15:31:54Z Comment by Aristatide Do you know how much I love the world-building you guys do for these stupid movies? SO MUCH. 2017-02-15T10:58:52Z Comment by Peter Nara you guys failed to realise that the pirate leader is no other than Robin Shou, Liu Kang the man himself! :) 2016-09-01T15:31:44Z Comment by TheeForsakenOne The UK trailers for DOA were truly dire. I think that put a lot of people off (Including me). 2016-08-26T22:52:28Z Comment by Nathan Stapleton The next Dead or Alive title: DoA: That Game What Has Some Boobs in It: Super Unrealistic Physics Edition 2016-08-22T09:35:50Z Comment by Osc Char LAZY TOWN 2016-08-21T10:05:08Z Comment by Xion "It's not objectification." It's sexualization and idealization. Oddly enough these two can walk hand in hand just as much as objectification and sexualization can. Hmmm... sexualization is a whore. 2016-08-20T12:45:52Z Comment by Xion "Action-comedy" Is the genre you are looking for. 2016-08-20T12:43:22Z Comment by Xion As you were describing the ending sequence I wanted to shout; "Uranus! I cannot allow you to make any more defective copies of me!" Kudos to anyone who knows that reference. ;) 2016-08-20T12:26:48Z Comment by Xion Yeah... this is par for the course still... 2016-08-20T12:16:32Z Comment by Xion At the time this movie was made... This made sense. There were lots of rumor-mill things regarding nanotechnology and the use of nanomachines in much the same ways as mutagens were a thing in the 90s. 2016-08-20T12:09:43Z Comment by Xion You... don't watch much action/combat themed anime do you Jim? This is par for the course in that realm. 2016-08-20T11:57:39Z Comment by Xion This sounds genuinely amusing... Kind of want to watch this movie now. :P 2016-08-20T11:33:06Z Comment by DiggityDoge MOVIE BOYS?!?!?!?! Where'd you go Movie Boys...... 2016-08-20T11:27:19Z Comment by Xion Oh yes... Even with my surface-level observations of the DoA story in the few games I've played - There are not so subtle hints of Kasumi loving her brother in ways a sister shouldn't and ultimately wanting to commit incest. 2016-08-20T11:23:43Z Comment by Xion ... Damnit Jim...You beat me to the joke... You were planning this before recording weren't you? 2016-08-20T11:17:12Z Comment by Xion Tangent: One thing I REALLY absolutely hate about most tournaments is the whole notion of "lose one match and you're out" pyramid method. I prefer Round Robins where contestants have to have matched against everyone else multiple times before rankings even begin. Then either change to a pyramid system or continue the round robin until rankings stabilize for a clear winner. 2016-08-20T11:13:51Z Comment by Xion You know lots of girls do things like this IRL rather frequently, yes? 2016-08-20T11:02:40Z Comment by Xion Honestly at this point I would be thinking whoever are the people throwing these knivitations are the people who should be fighting in the tournament... 2016-08-20T10:59:53Z Comment by Xion Considering Final Fantasy: Spirits Within had at least some Amazon "facts" about itself... eh... 2016-08-20T10:51:40Z Comment by Xion Nail on the head there with the Johnny Cage reference. 2016-08-20T10:46:45Z Comment by Xion No... they are just called double-bladed knives. 2016-08-20T10:42:16Z Comment by Xion Complicated AF? Brother is ronin; she wants to bring him back; plans to go ronin herself to do it; ronins of the clan are hunted until death. 2016-08-20T10:37:02Z Comment by Xion DoA was literally advertised with masturbation jokes and panty-shots. That is objectification. But once its fanbase got into the game they found lore and story and character beyond the sexualization that attracted them to it in the first place. And that's just from surface-level observations based on limited exposure to the franchise. If I wasn't already primarily a Killer Instinct fan; I'ld have been more interested. 2016-08-20T10:27:48Z Comment by Xion Agreed. "Breast physics" in games are generally a joke. Even now. However it's to a point that if they don't move during movement that it's noticed in games. 2016-08-20T10:21:34Z Comment by Xion Yes you do or you wouldn't be harping over semantics. You don't give a shit about their actual meaning; that's obvious. 2016-08-20T10:16:56Z Comment by Xion They made an XBV3? Oh wait... yeah that one they aren't releasing in the west. 2016-08-20T10:15:29Z Comment by Xion Few games used this analog function inside the buttons. Fable(original) for the bow draw and yes XBV. 2016-08-20T10:13:05Z
