Memory - Now by Leilani Wilson published on 2016-03-17T06:08:30Z Artwork by Fortuna @ Weasyl. Replacement for an earlier track, using a completely different mood. https://soundcloud.com/leila-wilson-woofle/memory-2-qaimusu-field-1877?in=leila-wilson-woofle/sets/elancia-chronicles-order-of-1 There's the link to the earlier one. The mix was a touch muddy, and although parts of the mood resonated with what I was going for, I didn't feel the song felt ethereal enough. To that end, I decided to do some very odd things with the rhythm. I haven't messed around enough with waltz rhythms yet, anyway... Keywords: Homecoming, loss, decay, beauty, dream-like, remembrance, regret. "Looking at Qaimusu Island now, was akin to putting on a pair of gloves that did not fit. Everything was smaller than it had been when Verse was a child, but that was the least of its problems. Even the awkward memories, missed opportunities, mistakes, and embarrassment of childhood paled in comparison to how run down the island was now. The tops of abandoned buildings could be seen through the trees, the roads were empty, the forest had overgrown places that hadn't been overgrown before, and more of the strange rocks that had always poked up through the island were doing so now. Verse could smell a cookfire or two, and it was rather obvious that someone was still living in the village, despite what the coach driver had said. Still more than anything in the world, Verse wanted to avoid going back to the village. Instead, the fox-kin turned toward the old cabin the McDowell family had once inhabited, hoping it hadn't collapsed into the sea under its own weight yet." Genre Game Music Comment by Pink^Abyss Pretty good mix. 2020-07-22T13:40:50Z Comment by WhiteXMasBone awwww.... :) 2017-04-20T07:56:02Z Comment by DLSea Music I like the serene and relaxing vibe I get from this. I'd imagine this would go well to a home town location for a game, or, in a movie or show, a wistful and/or playful, lighthearted scene. I like the use of the bassoon to give that playful romping sort of feel but without detracting from the overall piece. Well done! I think I may follow... 2016-12-02T06:00:37Z Comment by Sloth Demon This is great. I love it. 2016-09-06T20:12:34Z Comment by jasminecoopermusic Man, this section is gorgeous. 2016-08-17T23:54:51Z Comment by Jean Of mArc If I weren't already following you, I would again after listening to this! 2016-08-17T18:07:59Z Comment by Charyb Allow me to gush for a moment, but this song came into my life at a time when I'm preparing to move across the country for the first time in my life. I've always lived in the same place my entire childhood, and my birthplace is filled with memories, every part of it. Some good ones yes, but a whole lot of the awkward memories, missed opportunities, mistakes, and embarrassment that comes with being a child. Even if leaving all my family and everything I'm familiar with will be a definite improvement in my life... it's hard not to be all sappy and nostalgic. I feel this song and this mood on a deep, deep level. 2016-05-30T17:01:12Z Comment by nobel11 This is just splendid. 2016-04-09T22:44:41Z Comment by AlphaPHK *reads description* Oh...i understand Verse's feelings.I also have a special childhood place that i used to play with the neighbor kids, but now it's all old and abandoned. It's painful to go there now, but every once in a while i tend to visit that old place ç_ç...(Also this part is REALLY beautiful, i seriously almost cried here ;-;) 2016-03-28T14:46:13Z Comment by Can of Nothing I'm honestly stumped as to what time signature this is even in. How do you even work in these? 2016-03-28T01:27:12Z Comment by Jredd Oh man, this is beautiful. :) 2016-03-26T23:52:56Z Comment by CosmoBG ER, YS Net. Typo LOL :P 2016-03-25T05:06:33Z Comment by CosmoBG YSNew should hire you to do a track or two for shenmue 3. I know i keep saying that, but so many of your songs that either have a chinese or 80's theme to it sound so much like shenmue. Lol I don't know if they let western people pitch in on stuff like this, but if you did toss in a track, it wouldn't sound at all out of place. 2016-03-25T05:06:08Z Comment by Cheeto-senpai Every song I listen to of yours is really good. This sounds like it could totally be in a classic PSX RPG. 2016-03-24T21:46:02Z Comment by marcb0t Yes, I like this sentimental piano portion, and especially that woodwind instrument with the stereo phasing. 2016-03-18T03:53:47Z Comment by marcb0t Nice ambience here, and I like those soft parts where you have the occasional analogue bass sound. If for no other reason, to just really give it this unique 80's edge. :P 2016-03-18T03:52:30Z Comment by Skyleo Really beautiful track, with a very lovely atmosphere ! I love what you did with the arps and its rhythm, it kinda reminds me the rhythms in "Shevat- The Wind is Calling" from Xenogears. =) 2016-03-18T03:06:21Z Comment by prod.nickmill this is brilliant! =) 2016-03-17T19:49:42Z Comment by dante gofar i like how you cut the arp up in the beginning segment 2016-03-17T07:55:18Z
