Rez Lyfe by Little Wind River published on 2019-11-30T02:21:21Z Coming to you from the lows of Arapahoe~ I want to start off with acknowledging my ancestors for their resistance and thanking my mama for giving me life. I am so blessed to be alive! On this day of November 29, 1864, U.S. Army soldiers brutally killed nearly 500 Arapaho Cheyenne people.. mostly women, children and elderly. The survivors only got away by running and hiding in the riverbanks or burrowing in holes in the ground. Those who survived were marched some 600-miles between the location of the Sand Creek Massacre in Colorado and the Wind River Reservation in Wyoming, where we now reside among the Eastern Shoshone. This song gives you some insight about our lives as indigenous youth on the reservation... in this world. WE ARE STILL HERE! If like this track, it's 'cuz my little sister wrote it. @ SMOKE DAWGG You can support us by sharing this song with as many people as you can; our message needs to be heard far and wide.
