Hip-Hop, Reggaeton, and Dancehall Reggae recording artist, Gabriel Isidoro Pitts Hernandez, a.k.a. Lolo Criollo, was born on September 17. Lolo Criollo owes much of his artistic influence to his poverty stricken and prostitution ridden hometown, and his Puerto Rican and Afro-Caribbean heritage. “Growing up my parents would listen to Salsa, Reggae, and Soul, and when I would go outside; all I heard was Hip-Hop,” says the aspiring musician. As a teenager, Lolo Criollo began to play Latin percussion in neighborhood jam sessions and the Puerto Rican day Parade in New York. It was also at this age that he began to record his own versions of popular songs on a karaoke machine with two turntables.
Lolo Criollo has collaborated with recording artist Smoke E. Digglera, from the platinum selling R&B group Playa, and AK Billionaire from Do or Die. In addition, Lolo Criollo has opened up for internationally recognized Latin recording artists Arcangel, Franco el gorila, Tony Dize, and Bachata Heights.
