Midnight Pressure Denver Midnight Pressure has seen rapid success over a short period of time. Their songwriting to date is eclectic and brimming with tension; the blues permeates their music like capillaries through so much tissue. Midnight Pressure stirs your loins with music that is sexual, gritty, and a little dangerous. The Denver-based band is comprised of five members. The soulful vocals belong to Graham Hartle, a rare talent with a seductive growl. Matt Leeke creams the audience with heart-attack solos and a torrential stage presence. In contrast, longtime composer Richard “Big Dick” Schwering writes methodical solos and enchanting melodies. Dave “The Gravedigger” Morrison (bass) and Andy Austin (drums) drive the band’s raucous energy relentlessly forward. The quintet has recorded three original songs to date. Fan favorite “Together Anymore (The Whore Song)” is an introspective song about falling out of love, trying to move on, succumbing to lust, and ending up right back where you started. “Non-Stop Blues” is exactly what you’d expect from this band when a 12 bar blues tune is left to their devices. “Birds in Flight” marks what may be a watershed moment for the band. Richard and Dave weave bass and guitar melodies through Matt’s dark pop chord progression while Andy’s minimalistic accents develop into an accelerating intensity that defines the climax of the song. Building an ever-growing fan-base, Midnight Pressure has performed in several venues around the Denver Metro Area. Most notably, the band opened for the winner of America’s Got Talent, Michael Grimm. They are excited to build on the sound they have created and to dig deeper into the roots of their inspiration.
