Prelude to the Wind (for Harp & Violin) by Nicolas de Ferran published on 2018-05-14T09:27:27Z "Prelude to the Wind" Composed by Nicolas de Ferran (2018). Harp: Tom Moth. Violin: Vaughan Jones. About the piece: In 2012 when I was living in Boston, MA (USA), I went to see a concert by Jenna Moynihan (Fiddle Violin) & Mairi Chaimbeul (Harp). They were playing Celtic Folk music and their talent was mesmerizing. I was so amazed by their performance that I started to think about writing a piece for Harp & Violin myself. Then a few years passed and the end of 2017 came. The idea of a piece for harp and violin was still on my mind and I felt that I was finally ready to do it. So I started to work on it: first by thinking about it a lot, all the time, trying to hear it in my mind before sketching a few ideas at my piano. Then finally in March 2018, after several weeks of work (not full time, of course!), I was ready to start the recording process. This recording was finished in May 2018, after two remote sessions with Tom Moth and Vaughan Jones, two amazing performers that I can't thank enough for their dedication and professionalism. After years of working for visual media it felt refreshing to compose something that wasn't supposed to serve any picture. The approach is much more abstract. Genre Classique Comment by Charlie Dalin Très sympa ! Congrats Nico ! 2019-08-31T16:24:23Z
