ONTIC Melbourne Ontic, a project by Australian songwriter and producer Andrew Dun, combines elements from the machine driven post punk electronica of the 80s and 90s, bringing these into a contemporary context. Ontic blends heavy electronic beats with a brooding yet subtle lyricism that explores physical ambiguity and psychological uncertainty. Ontic's output puts the body first, where a deep, hook-laden electronic funk typically underpins musical journeys that are at once both urgent and oblique. Ontic's first releases came in 2018, with a stretch of singles spanning dark synth pop (Citizen), atmospheric industrial techno (Captive), neo-body music (Sign) and epic electronica 'Subterranean'. Ontic's debut album, The Movement Of Light, followed in 2019. The eight track LP introduced several new tracks, including the widescreen electronica of 'Headline' and the shadowy urban synthpop of 'Siren Fields'. The driving industrial funk of 'Night Train' followed in 2021. 2022 will see the release of Ontic's new single, 'Reflex'. The single is a glistening yet hypnotic exploration of post-wave electro pop, and is accompanied by the ominous industrial cyber-pop of b-side 'In The Moment'.
