Eric_Griffiths_What a Feeling.mp3 by Pedro UK published on 2023-03-11T08:09:09Z This is a song recorded in Los Angeles about the mid 80’s by Eric Griffiths, a member of the Creation Steppers, a vocal trio from Kingston, Jamaica, that included Fred Locks. This recording was given to us by Eric himself after a chance meeting in a bar in the San Fernando valley where a local reggae band, the name escapes me, we’re playing one Sunday night about 1986, but that night Eric joined them onstage for an impromptu performance, his vocals stood out, cut a long story short, we met at the bar and chatted, his manner warm and friendly. He was told we were playing reggae and we decided to try our hands, which we did. Eric eventually told us that we were to perform at the Malibu Cantina, in Malibu, California, after some trepidation, we all agreed to play, and eventually played regularly over a 6 week period. The show was billed as Eric Griffiths and the Creation Steppers, and being located where it was there were a number of unlikely people that would pop in, one night a certain Mick Fleetwood was at the bar having a beer, watching with a smile on his face, hopefully for the right reasons. The musical relationship didn’t last long for various personal reasons and life being what it is, but it was a special time in our lives, one that can only be remembered with a sense of warmth and love. This is a tribute to a lovely man, Eric Griffiths, RIP Eric, your wonderful voice will forever remain. Genre Reggae
