Qayotik Bjoern Splinter Lübeck I first touched turntables in '97... But to be more precise music really wasn't much to me until I got confronted with breakbeat hardcore in 1992... The moment I stood in the "T-Stube" in my home town of Rendsburg and a friend played "trip II the moon (Kaleidoscopiklimax Mix)" by Acen changed everything... "this is the trip"... This clear SOUND coming on, partially morphing to BASS... and then the breaks... and, wtf is that an aeroplane starting... lol.. I heard THAT about techno.... THEN: PIANO!High pitched vocals! Another build up! I like to believe I tried to dance when the beat came back, but I probably still stood in awe, confusedly thinking "WTF is GOING ON HERE? This is MAD! " I had found THE SOUND... capitals are nowhere enough to describe it .. just add some "!!!!!111111!!!!!!!!" and see a soulless world where people think,. radio has music, disappear in a pale haze on the horizon. Then Techno, Psy, House, Hardcore and Trance, Rediscovering (and loathing for quite while) Jungle (Wait, wasn't DnB like Breakbeat? This sounds like sped up ragga!) and HAPPy HARDCORE (So, wait, this is what breakbeat became?But... this sounds like german or dutch stuff!). The overall madness that is raving... or clubbing... or partying... or dancing... select a term that's chic in your favorite style or venue, done all that, but if it's NOT raving when you think about it you're probably DOING IT WRONG. And if you think "WTF, I'M NOT A RAVER!" just now, look up the word. This is electronic music after all, real serious bizness! LOVING THE MUSIC... as long as it's good... or something... *cough* Qayotik’s tracks outside by Qayotik published on 2020-11-13T09:06:44Z
