Richard Haig is a San Francisco-based electronic musician who primarily focuses on a dark dance floor foundation with a sinister songwriting sheen. His recent output is club-oriented in form but excels on a stage with energetic performances featuring live vocals and occasional instrumental guests. Fans of Hot Chip, Nine Inch Nails, Maceo Plex, Röyksopp, Radiohead, and Depeche Mode would feel right at home with his output. He is equally comfortable as a performative front man on a festival stage as he is being elusively tucked away in an underground DJ booth.
Having previously released under the name Panic Bomber, Richard Haig is a Scottish-born expat who originally developed his sound in Miami. There he played in multiple touring bands and honed his DJ chops during the annual Winter Music Conference festivals. He stepped away from releasing albums for a few years and returned with a new sound in 2020 with multiple self-released albums under his own Art Heist Records label.
Richard’s previous releases include music on the UK’s Anjunadeep Records, John Digweed’s Bedrock Records, and the Canadian YYZ Records. He has composed for and performed with the New World Symphony Orchestra in 2014 and 2015. Richard has licensed music for Michael Kors and Volkswagen, and was included on an official TRAX Magazine CD (France’s biggest electronic music publication). He has ghost-produced Hype Machine Top 10 remixes of Kanye West, Metronomy, and Phantogram. As a live performer he has played alongside Skream, Skrillex, The Juan Maclean, and MGMT and appeared at festivals such as EDC, Ultra, SXSW, Electric Forest, Hudson Project, Sunfest, Pride Toronto, as well as performing on the Yo Gabba Gabba and La Roux live tours. As a DJ, he was previously a resident and partner of the Slap & Tickle Miami collective and has spun alongside Disclosure, Duke Dumont, Chus & Ceballos, Kaytranada, John Talabot, Detroit Swindle, XXXY, Aeroplane, Jackmaster, Moonboots, Jonas Rathsman, Kaskade, and Ke$ha.
