Science Meets Music Science Meets Music is a series of performances and workshops with pianist/composer Diane Moser at the Meadowlands Environmental Center in Lyndhurst,NJ. These sounds are from the first workshop; Pythagoras, Kepler, Math and Music.. exploring Pythagoras's discovery of the ratios of the music overtones series, the impact of that discovery, and how it led Johannes Kepler and to write his treatise Harmonice Mundi. Workshop participants measured objects in the building, converted those measurements into ratios, which were then converted into musical intervals, and then played on various musical instruments. Sound effects were also added with various objects found in the room; a liter soda bottle filled with cheerios, rulers and clipboards.
