Starover Blue Portland, OR The nostalgic tones of a Juno-106 combine with ambient layers, sparkling guitars, and airy, bittersweet vocals to define Portland dream pop band Starover Blue. Their latest single, “Larkspur,” showcases a different side of the group, taking inspiration from heavier-hitting indie rock versus the synth textures of 2019 LP Ordinary Magic and 2016 debut Spacegeist. A new LP is slated for 2023 release. Founding members Kendall Sallay and Dirk Milotz began their musical partnership in 2007 in the San Jose State University music department and relocated the group to Portland in 2016. Live, the six-piece showcases lush vocal harmonies and pulls from a multi-faceted discography, appealing to fans of acts such as Cocteau Twins, Big Thief, Wye Oak, Beach House, The Joy Formidable, The Velvet Teen, Low Roar, and The Antlers.
