Stevo Bruno
Venice
At an early age, Stevo Bruno's favorite past time was going to his father's recoding studio in Philadelphia. He didn’t go out and play baseball or ride his bike like most kids. Growing up in a music business family and learning his way around the recording studio at such a young age, set a roadmap for his future. By the time Stevo was eleven, he played most instruments. His first band was a Beatle's cover band at the age of twelve, playing bass. Over the years Stevo has played in numerous bands including, Death Valley Jupiter, Kik Tracee, Revel 8, Five O'Clock, Zen Lunatic. After years of exhausting rehearsals, living on tour buses, all of the gigs and the grueling tours on the road, Stevo decided to pursue his true passion, Producing! The recording studio has always been a magical place for Stevo. He paid hid dues in LA working and interning at studios such as Grand Master, Cherokee, A & M, Record Plant, Paramount, Westlake, Encore, Ameraycan, B-5 Studios, etc. Stevo also has mixed front house sound for nearly every venue from Los Angles to New York to Florida.
In 2001, Stevo Bruno opened Klown Records in Santa Monica, CA. "The one-stop-shop rehearsal, recording and showcasing facility is an experience like no other in the world. Since it's opening, LA musicians have been flocking to the cutting-edge complex which has already been coined A Disneyland For Musicians by Billboard Magazine!" - Musician Magazine 2001. Studio owner Stevo Bruno, a veteran engineer and producer created a 10,000 square foot mega studio complex. Klown Records attracted musicians from all genres: rock, indie, punk, grunge, pop, country, etc. as well as local bands to the biggest names in the business. It wasn't uncommon to see Jane's Addiction, Motley Crue, Primus, The Pixies, Chaka Khan walking around Klown on any given day as well as our favorite local bands. The atmosphere of Klown and making sure musicians felt comfortable and inspired was one of Stevo's many priorities! After eight years of unparalleled success, Klown Records closed it's doors.
After taking some time off to enjoy and experience life for a few years, Stevo felt re-inspired to open a new studio,
Next Level Studios! After a lifetime of experience in the music industry and owning Klown Records for almost a decade, Stevo took a different approach this time around. Having earned many awards, gold, platinum and multi-platinum records, it was time to take it to the Next Level. Stevo wanted to focus primarily on making hit records! The first record recorded at Next Level was a band that Stevo discovered from North Carolina called "Parmalee". Having flown out to LA to work with Stevo and record their debut record in three different sessions, the record was a masterpiece. It went on to sell millions of copies and the song "Carolina" climbed to #1 on the Billboard charts for eleven weeks! There were many successful bands who Stevo produced at Next Level, one of which was "Five Finger Death Punch", a band that Stevo produced, engineered, mixed and co-wrote the majority of songs for their debut record. In less than six months FFDP sold over one million copies and went platinum! Other successful bands produced by Stevo Bruno were: Motley Crue, Bride's Of Destruction, Prong, Stan Ridgway, Boy Hits Car, Motorhead, Adler's Appetite, Pete Yorn, Mother's Finest, Fear Factory, Peter DiStefano, Brian Auger, The Dreaming, Pat Muldoon, Psychotic Youth and many more.
