Jinx Ft Thunda Banton- Talk Of The Town (SUA20) by Straight Up Audio published on 2024-02-04T20:04:28Z Straight Up Audio starts 2024 about to enter its 6th year in existence with a massive 6 track EP from the head honcho Jinx featuring the amazing vocal talents of the one and only Thunda Banton. Flexing his vast array of sound design skills Jinx has become a world leader and originator in the true upfront Jungle and rolling drum and bass movement. Add into this the illustrious and foundation crumbling vocal talents of the one and only Thunda Banton and the 2024 onslaught starts us off with what we can expect in the year ahead from both artists. 1/ “My Sound” Horns galore, vibes a plenty. We start off, full steam ahead on with a title track firmly planting an idea of what is to be expected throughout this Mini-album of sorts. Original vocals by Thunda himself, shuffle into the classic jungle sounds with ease, with a relentless pace before landing us back into the reverb and horn lead breakdown. Sirens blaring as a rise is ridden by Thunda like a wave right back into the pacey riddim taking it full steam ahead. 2/ “Talk Of The Town” Sweeping sounds rush throughout the speakers, leading into the trippy sprinkled synths and a heavy bass drop accompanied by Thunda Banton himself. Cross- over vibes are the nature of the beast with this next track leaving a true reggae vibe and the recognisable sound system rhyme “Talk of the town” as Banton echo’s in and out of the stack system with his vocal mastery placed to perfection throughout the track by Jinx. 3/ “Love The Jungle” Halfway mark, on an insanely stellar and brilliant piece of work from Jinx. His best DNB build up to date in our eyes which uses a stretched out and gated bass stab to create a truly trippy but still dance floor friendly vibe, very different to the music through the rest of the EP. Trumpets are laden around the vocals by Thunda who steals the show as always, treating us to a vocal mastery, showcasing his range as a Jungle MC. 4/ “Like A Mad Man” A violin lead intro with the echoing vocal talents of Thunda lead us to our first drop on our next outing right in the middle of the EP “Move Like a madman, get high like a madman” This one will bring us all back round to the true junglist within us, as it screams out as a true 90s London Jungle warrior anthem. 5/ “Agony Daddy” This ones for the ladies? Well maybe the vocals but all true junglist soldiers will be feeling this one from start to finish. We aren't going to take the time to translate this one out but when the bounce of this track lands and you hear significant words in Thunda’s lyrics you know what this one is all about. 6/ Love The Jungle” (Instrumental) So nice we had to hear it twice and with a huge track like this it was only fitting this one went out for the Mash up Djs at heart. Talk Of The Town EP is out exclusively on Juno & Spotify Feb 15th, then out everywhere 22nd Feb. Genre Drum & Bass
