Our regular processes, take a look at them.
In every second of everyday, we are making 3 decisions; what we’re focusing on, what it means and what we’re going to do about it.
Once you tackle how you show up yourself, you can also begin to shift this mental habit that affects your decisions. This will matter to your relationships, jobs, finances and health.
Why suggest you come before the catalysts?
What comes first—you or your mindset?
Let’s take a look.
Who are you?
We usually start with rigid identity.
You could say any number of things. Mother, wife, daughter, friend, business owner, avoid baseball fan, devoted nurse, millennial, Christian, etc.
Take that away.
Who are you?
We usually move to less rigid identifiers.
You can say a lover, enneagram 3, Gemini, healer, etc.
Take that away.
Do your still exist?
Of course you do but who are you? Let’s find out.
You’re standing in front of a fire.
Take your thoughts.
Take your emotions.
Take your experience.
Personality.
Preferences.
Throw them into the fire.
Do you still exist?
Of course you do.
What remains is why we focus on you first. That being is what you return to during meditation. That just precede assessing our habitual processor. Because it is still, subsequently valid.
Many of us, without practicing self awareness will often define the intangible soul by the rigid and limited characteristics. This is backward.
Our infinite being should define our more limited personality traits and characteristics.
Our unlimited being came to earth an information sponge, unbiased and untethered to any outcome. So through experience we adopted facts and laws of life (how we relate to others, how to get our needs met, what’s safe and unsafe, what creates pain and pleasure, etc. with an emphasis on how to be loved and survive) and no matter how inaccurate or skewed this experience came to teach us (ie: abused children learning to be unseasonably self sustainable and emotional hardened to acclimate to harsh treatment in order to please (as a replacement stand in for love) the caretaker) this is what we began to shove our infinite being into in order to develop as a human mind on earth.
This data forms and shapes our psyche and therefore our behavior, mannerisms and traits.
When we begin to take self inventory of this inversion we can begin to deprogram this and return to a more beautiful state of being.
This open space is where we implant the nature we choose, this is where we implant happiness.
How can you live in a beautiful state everyday? By removing the many barriers only you have chosen to keep in place.
The vehicle to this before you master the habit of choosing happiness in every moment is meditation.
Meditation is not something you make happen. It is something you allow for yourself. It comes to you naturally. We’ve created distractions, barriers and alternative methods for soothing/satisfaction and filled our lives with gunk that blocks the flow of peace and happiness to us. Meditation is merely the intentional clearing of those pathways.
